Tom Brunetto is a Managing Partner at DEFG.
Tom is a senior executive with over thirty years of experience in the gas and electric industry. Tom’s expertise includes general management, operations, product-business development, regulation, and sales and marketing. Tom is skilled in business strategy, start-up management, supply chain, business transformation, operational excellence and customer care. He is a co-founder of the Utility Customer Research Consortium and Demand and Energy Technology Research Consortium. Tom conducted assignments on business sustainability and aligning the value of carbon reduction with demand response, energy efficiency and distributed energy resources, and he has assisted utilities in establishing standards for smart grid and advanced metering infrastructure.
Prior to joining DEFG, Tom was a Vice President with Cap Gemini where he managed eBusiness and supply chain service offerings for the Energy, Utilities & Chemicals North America business unit, and was a member of the leadership team that launched the Emporium Utility marketplace, an eBusiness that serves the utility industry.
As a partner for Ernst & Young, Tom directed corporate reengineering, strategic planning, regulatory and marketing/sales projects for the energy business unit. These projects included rate design studies, corporate strategy, forecasting, planning and management audits. He has provided expert testimony on cost and pricing justification in Texas, Montana, Alabama, Massachusetts and in Canada.
