Jamie Wimberly has served as CEO of DEFG since it was founded in 2003. With more than twenty-five years of experience in energy, Jamie has interacted with leading technology innovators, executive teams at major investor-owned utilities and energy retailers, thought leaders and regulators. His expertise includes general management and operational consulting, customer engagement and strategy, program and offering design, marketing and communications, and customer service. He firmly believes that customers are the future of energy. He and the DEFG team serve as catalysts for change, helping clients better connect with customers. Jamie is the author of over 25 published articles, speaks frequently at industry conferences, and is widely recognized as one of the more innovative thought leaders in the utility sector.

In addition to DEFG, Jamie teaches at the Gallatin School at New York University. He is also the Board Vice Chair for HUB, a non-profit serving the homeless and needy in Atlanta. Prior to founding DEFG, Jamie co-founded and served as President of the Center for the Advancement of Energy Markets (CAEM), a non-profit think tank focused on the energy sector. He served as the Vice President of the Consumer Energy Council of America (CECA), the oldest public interest organization in the nation focusing on energy, telecommunications and other network industries providing essential services to consumers.

Jamie earned his MA in international economics with a focus on energy at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
