Cindy O’Dwyer, Esq., is a Vice President with DEFG and a lawyer with LEED G.A. credentials. “LEED G.A.” is the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Associate credential.
Cindy’s expertise includes in-depth research and consulting on innovative energy policies and programs including prepaid electric service, feed-in tariffs, property assessed clean energy (PACE) financing, NYC Greener, Greater Buildings Plan, consumer-facing regulations, and low-income energy consumer issues. Cindy assists with DEFG’s Prepay Energy Working Group (PEWG) and and with DEFG’s Low Income Energy Issues Forum (LIEIF). She handles general counsel legal responsibilities for DEFG.
Prior to joining DEFG, Cindy was a practicing attorney in New York City. Most recently, she handled general business and commercial disputes with Leader & Berkon LLP. Earlier, Cindy practiced securities litigation on the Enron litigation team at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, and served as counsel to Riverkeeper, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the ecological integrity of the Hudson River.
Cindy studied political science with a minor in environmental studies, and received a B.A. from Providence College. She later received a J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law.Cindy is based in New Jersey, where she participates in events run by the Energy Bar Association, Women in Energy NYC, and U.S. Green Building Council.
