DEFG has announced the winners of a student competition at the Gallatin School of New York University (NYU) to develop and present the “Millennial Vision of the Future Utility.” The student concepts and strategies for the “utility of the future” point to the different customer service requirements for young Americans. The students identified the need for a deeper emotional relationship between customer and utility. This is a departure from what has traditionally been viewed as simply a monthly review of the utility bill.

Five student teams competed, and the winning team–identified as Greenleaf, the world’s first (you)tility–was the winner.

A presentation is available. The download contains an overview of the college class assignment, and concepts from all five teams.
